"...Superhero" A Week Late
Somehow I missed that this episode was out. Next airs tonight, so you might be seeing the followup very soon.
I feel almost meta-ashamed to talk about this episode. Not ashamed, mind, but embarrassed not to be embarrassed. Why? Because my favorite for the win, Parthenon, kicked butt.
Really, in most respects, the episode didn't hold surprises for me. Basura fell for the trap in the courier challenge, and she took the guy's shoes when he said he was leaving without getting contact info (no-one said anything later, though), but she seemed the weakest remaining candidate anyway. (Incidentally, Mr. Mitzvah called it. Might want to keep an eye out for Hyper-Strike - his favorite - in the upcoming challenges.) Defuser and Hygena had some troubles with the clothes, but they weathered them. Other than that? Well, I suppose Hyper-Strike and Parthenon managed to nab the best borrowed outfits. Oh, and Parthenon lucked out and caught the courier first.
Other than that, just a couple notable things:

- Whip-Snap is very emotional - was featured in a little vignette at the opening of the episode. Not news, really, but this suggests she might get penalized for it.
- When Parthenon got a call home and had to choose someone else to get one - no kidding, double-edged sword. It turned out okay, though, and Whip-Snap was quite noble giving up her opportunity.
- Another bit no-one commented on: Whip-Snap beats Hyper-Strike arm-wrestling, and the Defuser asks Parthenon?
- Being critical of his fellows in the mission report probably hurt the Defuser - especially as his criticisms weren't terribly helpful. Then again, he was honest about them - maybe it evens out.
So, my new order-of-preference list:
- Parthenon
- Hygena
- Hyper-Strike
- Whip-Snap
- The Defuser
