"The body of Lucy Stoker" commission!

We got a commission of L from our soulless druid story! Content warning for blood on the image, but we super love it - more on the concept under the cut.

The thing is, in the story, L leaves the cave in a single sentence: "The body of Lucy Stoker remembered the shape of the dark cave Lucy Stoker had led the strangers into, and followed its walls back out, to open air and dawn sky, and muddy grass underfoot." This is not a large moment in its story...

...and that's actually really interesting, because this is someone in pitch blackness, unable to see literally anything, walking through the darkness like it's nothing based solely on the memory of a single trip. That's not a trivial thing to do, and the fact that this didn't strike L as worthy of comment says something about how the character thinks that we kinda wanted to highlight.

So we commissioned it:

The artist is Nuktibromos, a friend of ours - vir commiss.io page is here. This one was a halfbody digital painting with an elaborate background, and it was a great experience getting the piece done - good clarifying questions and a way cooler composition than we'd initially imagined.
