I've got a story to submit to Writers of the Future with a solipsist species--that is, a hive mind that doesn't understand the idea of other minds. It makes for a hell of a first contact. I like the idea of trying to convince something like that of other people.
(The Hive is an interesting character later when it start to integrate into the Galactic Union. I have more fun with this critter ...)
