Note: SL > London.

(p.s. Given alts, people who tried it and then quit, and other factors, this statistic is doubtless worthless for anything but amusement value.)

Well, yes. The number of Londoners is probably exceedingly unreliable. :)

But (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World%27s_largest_cities) of (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_by_population) course (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_urban_areas_by_population). :)

...I wasn't expecting it to actually be quite so unreliable, though it's probably cheaper, easier and more satisfying to try London than it is SL.

Seems like airfare would be more expensive than high-speed Internet to me, but I'll take your word for it.

To be honest, though, the reason why those numbers are different is because they're simply measuring the populations of different areas - 'a contiguous territory inhabited at urban density levels without regard to administrative boundaries or commuter flows', 'the city proper and not for the urban area nor the metropolitan area', 'buildings/dwellings not more than 200 m apart' - rather than because they can't judge whether people still live there (or whether a person has multiple entries).
