What would you do if you had one day left to live?

View other answers

Y'know what? I've thought about this over and over, and there's nothing I'd really want to accomplish that I could get done in just one day. All that leaves, then, is goodbyes - to my parents and siblings, to my neighbors and friends, to my grandparents, and to my blog and Web presences. Oh, and resignation from my job - almost forgot that.

That done ... I don't know. Maybe I'd get out my paper, brushes, and ink left over from my art classes and start painting.

I'd find a way to live another day.

Well, sure, depending on circumstances. If it's medical there's not much I could do, though.

what kind of painting do you do?

Very little, to be honest - just a couple art classes - but I enjoyed it when I did, and an art teacher once said I had a "painterly touch". I figure if it were my last day, I'd want to give it another shot. (I'll probably do that anyway, when I don't have other responsibilities I need to fulfill.)

I don't have much in the way of paintings online or off, but my DeviantArt account (http://packbat.deviantart.com/) plus the "drawings" tag on my journal (http://packbat.livejournal.com/tag/drawings) have a couple things.

Aw, I totally dig your sketches. I particularly liked "Fantasy" on your DA account. Definitely something of which I would like to see more.

Also, reading your info about nomicide... reminded me of this card game we played in middle school called mao, or some variation thereof, with one small difference: the rules were not to be known by new players (I shouldn't even be telling you this). You ever hear of it?

Thanks! I'm glad you like them. I should do some more.

Mao? Yes, I think I've heard of it, only it was called "Bartok" - there were probably many variations between what I played and you played, though (of course). But yes, that's commonly mentioned as a related kind of game, as is Calvinball. I think Nomic is a bit more intellectual, though - a rules-lawyer's game, so differently if not less irreverent.
