What do you always carry with you?

View other answers

Just restricting it to my pockets:

  1. My wallet, containing cash, miscellaneous IDs, and credit, debit, and SmarTrip cards.
  2. My Leatherman Juice S2 (which I am not entirely satisfied with as a tool, but which is nevertheless useful).
  3. Spare change.
  4. Two cell phones - a Virgin Mobile Nokia 2115i and a Cingular Samsung SGH-C417.
  5. A keyring, with a CVS card, a Borders card, and keys.
  6. Pens (at least two).
  7. A bound pocket-sized notebook (or two, as at present).
  8. Paper fast-food napkins (instead of a handkerchief).
  9. A 1-GB USB memory card on a lanyard.

...which reminds me - I need to put a new adhesive bandage in my wallet.

I've stopped wearing mere blue jeans because of the amount of things I carry:

Back pocket:
-Wallet (two credit cards, AAA card, driver's license, spare cash, random love notes)

Left pocket:
-Second wallet (actually an old Oyster Card carrying case, it doubles as a money clip and has slots for my student ID and debit card)
-Moleskin pocket notebook (used to make to-do lists, keep grocery lists, and record quotable quotes)

Right pocket:
-Car and apartment keys
-Pens (blue, black, and red)

Left cargo pocket:
-Spare change (falls too easily out of regular pockets)
-Comb
-iPod shuffle & earphones
-Thumbdrive

Right cargo pocket:
-Rare keys on lanyard (mother's house and sister's apartment, no use crowding my car and apartment keys)
-Chapstick
-Lighter (always for someone else)
-Two anti-baby-making contraptions (so I can embarrass myself at airport screenings)

Left jacket pocket (combined with left cargo pocket in warmer months):
-Chewing gum

Right jacket pocket (combined with right pocket in warmer months):
-Cellphone

Lower left inner jacket pocket:
-Candy

Upper left inner jacket pocket:
-Emergency cash

Right inner jacket pocket:
-Pocket constitution
-Checkbook

That's about all I can think of. During the warmer months I'm without my emergency cash, checkbook, and pocket constitution. It pains me whenever I have to wear blue jeans. How am I supposed to work with just three pockets?

I shudder in fear at the sheer force of your equipment list. ;)

And yeah, a shortage of pocket space is always painful. Sportswear is especially painful in this respect.
