Lemme see - got out of bed around 9:00, ate breakfast and watched an episode of "Have Gun Will Travel", then came back upstairs and got on my computer ... I've probably been on about 15 minutes.

What have I been doing? I've been reading the No Nonsense Self Defense pages. This Website appears to be an excellent source of information, from what I've seen so far - the author sounds like an expert, and his advice sounds good.

Oh, and while I was writing this post, I logged onto AIM. That will probably play into this, too.

During the last 35 minutes:

I read some of [livejournal.com profile] nanakikun's posts, and
I read more of the No Nonsense Self Defense page.

Nobody's IMed me yet, and I haven't checked my blogs yet. Maybe I should. Yeah, I'll do that.

During the last 70 minutes:

Read a bit more on the No Nonsense Self Defense page,
Read my list of blogs. I always end up spending the most time on [livejournal.com profile] conuly's page, since she links a lot of good articles.

I'm going to get off my compu now - eat lunch or something. I think there's leftover Chinese.

Over the last 45 minutes:

Read a bit more on that No Nonsense Self Defense page
Read my webcomics
Read and posted on the Dominic Deegan webcomic forum.
Read Websnark, and the interview of Websnark's primary writer, Eric Burns, on Modern Humor Authority.

Gotta go to the bathroom...!

Over the last 20 minutes:

Back to the No Nonsense Self Defense page. A lot of excellent stuff there.

I think I'll leave and play Scrabble soon, though.

My dad forwarded me this link, which has occupied me for the last 20 minutes.

Mata's "The Other Side"

It contains many things, most of which I have not examined. However, I have watched the four Samurai Lapin flash animations. They are odd, but well-made. I recommend them.

In 20 minutes, I did a run through the comics I forgot to check last time, and I opened [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes to start reading.

Future plans will include another bathroom run, and (possibly) poetry.

During the past 15 minutes:

I have read [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes,
I have discovered [livejournal.com profile] qwantz, the maker of a good cut-and-paste webcomic that I already frequent, and
I have not gone to the bathroom.

I am beginning to think this last 'action' (does 'not doing' something count as an action?) was ill-considered...

During the last 20 minutes or so:

I read more of that "No Nonsense Self Defense" site,
I edited errors out of my most recent post, and
I prepared to start another poem.

Let's see what I can do.

During the last 30 minutes, I worked on the aforementioned poem. However, the kitchen garbage needs to be disposed of, and noodles are on the stove, so I'll be heading out.

In the meantime, my mom has been giving me large numbers of books lately. I think she's hinting at something, but that doesn't change the fact that they're cool books. I will enjoy reading them.

Back to the No Nonsense Self Defense page, for another hour or so. That stuff is fun to read, if you're me. I like straight talk, and this guy is certainly blunt when he wants to be.

In other news, I'm going back to school tomorrow after spring break. Gotta remember to go to bed on time.

Y'know what, PackBat? Y'know that No Nonsense Self Defense page?

It's probably going to still be there on May 20th, when finals are over. After all, isn't that what bookmarks are for?

(in case you haven't guessed, the previous 35 minutes were, for the most part, spent on that page.)

You should be doing three things, PackBat. Getting ready for bed, finishing that poem, and planning your school week. Hop to it!

The final 30 minutes of this project are finished, along with the first draft of my poem. Now, I can calculate what I've done.

For the record? Today, I spent approximately seven hours on my computer, most of it on one site. The other three hours were the things I 'usually' use the computer for, plus the poem.

In short - Even if I can avoid getting sucked into trying to read whole books worth of material on a site, I should still cut back some things to make my daily dose of recreational computer use under two hours. Under one hour? Cut a lot of things.

I'll post the poem later, once I've done the revision run. Goodnight.
