Douglas Hofstadter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_Hofstadter)'s Le Ton beau de Marot (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Ton_beau_de_Marot) deals with the mind and how to translate thoughts between languages. It's a totally fascinating book on its own, and it may touch on doodling in different languages (I can't recall; it's been years since I've read it).

I read that! I don't remember anything about doodling in different languages, but it was a lot of fun.
