At IHOP this evening, I was filling out a comment card when I observed the following (quoted from memory, emphasis added):
[...]
Quality of food:
  Flavor of food
  Appearance of food
Temperature of food: Hot food Hot!
Cleanliness of restaurant:
  Cleanliness of exterior
  Cleanliness of dining area
  Cleanliness of restrooms
[...]

...what?

They don't want to merely ask you if your food was "hot", because sometimes that's not a good thing; if you had ordered a cold salad, for instance. I read this as them trying to communicate the concept of "was the food at an appropriate temperature for what it was s'posed to be" in as concise a fashion as they could. Alas, clarity suffered.
