Innit? happydog was doing it, so I figured I would too.
"PackBat" was actually inspired by – dare I say it? – "Chanlemur", "Fade the Cat", "Demiurgent", and other such handles. I assumed when I was making my account that such names were de rigeur. Thus, I started looking at common little phrases and modifying them slightly. And packbat (which I particularly enjoyed, as it alluded both to my hoarding tendencies and eccentric nature – c.f. my journal subtitle (http://packbat.livejournal.com/)) proved to be available.
My first thought was the one on top of (warning: popups!) my old Tripod page (http://radrobin.tripod.com/), but somewhat more recent, and artistically far superior, is this black-and-white photograph of me and my brother (http://zhurnal.net/ww/zw?MerleAndRobinByEllenJacobs). I'm the one on the right. That is, your right – my left in the picture. Stage left. Ah, (→) that way. The one in the glasses (there – that's unambiguous!).
Of course, I also like the photo in the usericon, there, but I don't think it's on the public 'net. There's a copy on my Facebook account, though – I mailed it to [you][at][you].com from there.
Wow!
Okey...
What's the skinny on your choice of "Packbat" as an Internet handle?
