Two solutions, right?

(Yes, I brute-forced it.)

I'm too impatient to brute-force it, and insufficiently brilliant to come up with a general solution, so: do keep in mind that the appetisers need not be unique.

I didn't find any solutions with unique appetizers, actually.

To tell the truth, though, the parity trick was the most helpful of the ones I tried to employ.

There's 64 possible combinations of unique appetisers, and none of them give 15.05. 15.50 and 14.05, yes, but no 15.05. The closest result is 14.90.

That'd be a fitting response, if what I'd said was:

Es gibt 64 Möglichkeiten, daß einmalige Appetithappens haben. Kein davon gebt 15,05. 14,05 und 15,50 sind Möglichkeiten, aber 15,05 nicht. Das nächste Resultat ist 14,90.

Or something like that, I'm alarmingly out of practice.

I wouldn't know, I don't speak German. *sad*

Oh, could you check my edits on the [livejournal.com profile] nomicide userinfo and the New Player Guide? I think they're decently helpful.
