[livejournal.com profile] active_apathy has revealed that Firefox can make macro bookmarks! Directions for making a macro for LJ are in that post; here's my macro for Merriam-Webster OnLine:
  1. Select "Bookmarks: Manage Bookmarks..." (colon indicates option in menu).
  2. Click the "New Bookmark..." button.
  3. Enter a name in the Name field.
  4. Enter "http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/%s" in the Location field.
  5. Enter a keyword in the "Keyword" field – I used "mw".
  6. To use: type your keyword followed by your word in the location field of the regular browser, a la "mw eccentricity".
