packbat: One-quarter view of the back of my head. (quarter-rear)

I apologize for the perfunctory and belated nature of this notice, but ...

... I have a problem. My life habits are ill-suited to being a regular Internet denizen - like an alcoholic, I invariably binge, rather than partake, and I find myself interrupting or putting off things I need to do, like working, sleeping, eating, to refresh, archive-trawl, and read and comment.

Given this, I'm dropping all of it - webcomics, weblogs, Wikis, and fora - for the foreseeable future, and I will probably never be active in the way I was. There is a chance that I may revive a few of the less busy feeds, the more idiosyncratic and compelling feeds, to read in small bits at irregular intervals - I was thinking Plan B, possibly Thirteen Ribbons - but this blog and the other will probably fall fallow, and my Twitter, definitely.

Be well.

(P.S. My final bookmarks file.)

Totally bookmarks (doesn't include tags, though).

Oh, and a little music video for you (if you happen to have never bought a racing videogame in the past five years):

Here I go - I made a stretch, just now, where I gave Apple's Safari browser the old college try, but the World Wide Web of today is simply too thoroughly infested with the worst sorts of scripted garbage to do without NoScript any longer.

In any case, the latest bookmarks file. Exeunt.

Zoink! Take particular note of The Vancouver Sun. Why? Because they sponsored a sampler CD ("Seriously West Coast, Vol. 1") whose track 4 is brilliant. The Weepies, "Gotta Have You", from their CD Say I Am You. [Live performance of "Gotta Have You" (not in the bookmarks) - best I could come up with on short notice, accurate but low-quality.]

You can hear stuff on their site (which might be better, actually), but my YouTubing has garnered these three gems specifically:

(Unofficial videos, all of them - I suppose the duo is too new to have professional videos.)

I'm just about to pack my computer and put it away, so here's my bookmarks file from right now in case I'm not setting it up again at home.

Ta!

Just for your entertainment, here's my latest bookmarks file from Firefox. I didn't type most of the link descriptions, by the way; apparently the program grabs them from the <meta> fields in the document heads.

Incidentally, by my estimate, there's 1338 links on that thing. Even taking into account my browsing habits, that seems like a lot. I didn't know I did that much Web browsing.
